ICS Chair Stan Finney visited the Meishan Section
The chair of the International Commission on Stratigraphy, Prof. Stan Finney, visited the Meishan Section and Geopark at Changxing, Zhejiang Province on July 11, 2012 with the Vice-Chair Prof. Shanci Peng and SPS Secretary Prof. Shuzhong Shen. The Chair received a warm welcome from the local government of Changxing County and Zhejiang Province. Stan appreciated the achievements reached by the scientists who worked on the GSSPs of the Permian-Triassic boundary and the base of the Changhsingian Stage and the end-Permian mass extinction, and excellent protective work completed by the local government.
