ICS Supermodel Unveiled
The ICS Supermodel the International Commission on Stratigraphy overarching information model covering multiple many aspects of the stratigraphy domain.
It is made to allow for the integration of data both across distinct aspects of the stratigraphy domain and also for data outside the domain, such as broader geological data, to be joined with it.
The Supermodel was unveiled at the Strati 2026 conference in Suzhou, China, 2026 but is at an early stage of development with much work needed before it can be used widely and with confidence.
